In short

Marathon Focus is a marathon planning site. We collect very little about you personally. This page explains what we do collect, why, and what choices you have.

What we collect

You can browse the site without creating an account or handing over personal details.

If you use our contact form, you choose to send your name, email, subject, and message. We use that only to read and reply.

When you visit Marathon Focus, we and our partners may automatically see some basic visit information, such as:

• Which pages you viewed and links you clicked
• Rough location (usually country or region)
• Browser, device, and operating system
• How you found us (search, another site, and so on)
• When you visited
• Broad age and interest categories (when Google provides them)

We look at this in aggregate to understand how the site is used and how to improve it. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how people use Marathon Focus. We also use Google Signals for broader audience trends. These tools may use cookies to collect things like pages viewed, rough location, and device details. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy.

On your first visit we show a cookie consent bar. We use Google Consent Mode: analytics stay off until you accept. If you decline or have not decided yet, Google may still receive limited, cookieless signals (such as basic page views). Full analytics cookies only turn on if you accept.

Your choices

You can limit tracking in several ways:

• Use the cookie consent bar on your first visit (or clear site data in your browser to see it again)
• Change cookie settings in your browser
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data held about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we collect very little and do not run user accounts, we may not be able to find records linked to you.

Other services on this site

Some parts of Marathon Focus rely on third parties with their own privacy rules:

• YouTube: Embedded race videos are served by Google/YouTube. Playing a video may set cookies and collect usage data under Google's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: We load fonts from Google, which may receive your IP address. See the Google Fonts FAQ.
• Web3Forms: Our contact form sends your message through Web3Forms, which forwards it to our inbox under its own privacy policy. Web3Forms may keep submissions for a limited time.
• External links: We link to race organisers, social media, and other sites. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your data.

Cookies, in plain terms

Marathon Focus remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every visit. If you accept, Google may set cookies for analytics. If you decline or have not chosen yet, Google tags may still send limited, cookieless information but will not use analytics cookies. Embedded content (such as YouTube videos) may set cookies when you interact with them. You can limit cookies through your browser settings or use the opt-out links above.

Why we can use this data (UK & EU visitors)

We ask for your permission before turning on analytics cookies. Contact form messages are processed so we can reply — that is based on your consent when you submit the form and our legitimate interest in handling correspondence about the site. Where UK or EU privacy law applies, we may also use limited visit data to run and improve the site based on our legitimate interest. You can object to this where the law allows.

How long we keep things

Google keeps analytics data for its standard retention periods. Contact messages stay in our inbox for as long as we need to handle your enquiry, and Web3Forms may keep submission data for a limited time under its own policy. We do not maintain a separate database of individual visitor profiles.

When we update this page

We may change this policy from time to time. If you keep using the site after we post changes, that means you accept the updated version. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when we last revised it.
