The Mein Freiburg Marathon is a Rhine valley loop starting and finishing at Messe Freiburg, passing the Münster, the Schwabentor, the Dreisam River, and the Vauban district with the Black Forest visible to the east. The riverside and Vauban sections are the easiest because they stay mostly flat, while the minor rises toward the old town and any valley wind make the tougher stretches; crowds are strongest at Messe Freiburg, around the Münster and Schwabentor, and along the Dreisam.
