Course & terrain

Münster Marathon course

Course route details and elevation profile for race-week planning.

The Munster Marathon is a very flat city loop that starts and finishes at the Prinzipalmarkt and passes Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Aasee, and Schloss Munster. The open sections around the lake are the easiest because the terrain barely changes, the old-town corners and cobbles are tougher than any climbing, and spectators line the Prinzipalmarkt, gather around the cathedral, and watch from the lakeside paths.

The Münster Marathon uses open registration at muenster-marathon.de with no ballot or qualifying standard. Sign-up for the April race in western Germany typically opens the previous autumn.
