The Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon is a city loop starting and finishing near Plaza de Colon, passing Retiro Park, Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Cibeles, the Bernabeu district, and Casa de Campo. The broad Paseo del Prado sections are the easiest because they stay flat and grand, while the minor rises toward Casa de Campo and the longer exposed straights are tougher late in the race. Crowds are loudest around Plaza de Colon, along Paseo del Prado and Cibeles, and by the edges of Retiro Park.
